Who is this for?

If you’re considering changing your career it can be a daunting task. There are a lot of unknowns and the pathway ahead may be unclear. If you decide to make the change you’ll want to be confident that you pick up the skills and knowledge that make the change a success.

That’s where we step in. With two fully operational personal training studios under our belt we know what we’re doing. We understand what clients are looking for, how to best train them and what it takes to be successful in this business.

Our goal is to pass on all the information that we have learnt over the years and of course how to avoid the mistakes that we have made while getting here.

We don’t do half measures and our course content, both online and in person, reflects this. We’re passionate about what we do and we want you to have the success that we have had.

If you’re thinking about becoming a personal trainer alongside your current job, you’re probably juggling a lot of questions. Can you fit it around work and family? Will it be worth the time? Is it realistic without risking your steady income?

We understand that not everyone can walk away from security. You may want something more fulfilling, or you might simply want to test the waters before committing fully. Either way, flexibility matters.

That’s why we’ve structured this course around real life. With evening theory sessions and practicals taking place on Sundays, you can qualify properly without turning everything upside down. You’ll gain real coaching skills, hands-on experience, and the confidence to start training clients the right way — even if it begins part-time.

If you’re considering becoming a full-time personal trainer, it’s a big decision. Turning a passion for fitness into your main source of income can feel exciting but also uncertain. Will it be stable? Can you actually make a living from it? Where do I start?

You don’t just want a qualification — you want the skills, confidence, and direction to build something sustainable.

Whether you want to work as a trainer or own your own facility in the future we have the knowledge and skills that will help you.

If you’re thinking about becoming a personal trainer with an online focus, the idea of freedom and flexibility is appealing. Working from anywhere, reaching more people, building something of your own. But knowing where to start  and how to do it properly  can feel unclear.

We understand that passion for fitness doesn’t automatically translate into structured programming, clear communication systems, or a professional online service. There’s a big difference between posting workouts and actually coaching clients effectively.

Moving from your own passion about fitness to building a sustainable business is essential.Understanding the needs of your audience, clients and being able to fulfill those needs is what you need to learn.

With our guidance we can teach you the skills you need.

Take control of your own training. If you’re not looking to coach others but simply want to understand how to train yourself properly, you’re not alone. You care about your health, your body composition, and your performance — but the amount of conflicting information out there can be overwhelming.

We understand how frustrating it is to put effort in without being fully sure if you’re doing the right things. Guesswork leads to inconsistent results, and that can knock your motivation.

Our course gives you a clear understanding of training principles, progression, and programme structure so you can train with confidence. No fads, no confusion — just the knowledge to take control of your own results.

Why pay a personal trainer €30-60 per hour when you can learn to do it yourself.

Why choose us?

Our course is delivered both online and in person, giving you the best of both worlds. We cover the theory through live Zoom sessions during the week — two evenings, two hours each — so you can build your knowledge in a structured way. Then on Sundays, we focus on practical application in person. 16 full day sessions of practical.

Understanding theory is important, but being able to run a high-quality personal training session is essential. That’s why we place a heavy emphasis on practical skills. You can’t build a career in this industry without competency on the gym floor, and our goal is to make sure you leave with exactly that.

Our course is run inside one of our two fully operational personal training facilities. We haven’t just studied this industry, we’ve built businesses within it. Growing our gyms required us to understand client needs, deliver results, attract new members, retain them long-term, and run a professional operation.

That real-world experience is what we pass on to you.

Yes, you’ll learn how muscles work and why exercises do what they do, that foundation matters. But knowledge alone won’t get you clients, and it won’t keep them.

We place a strong emphasis on the soft skills of personal training: communication, relationship building, professionalism, and understanding client behaviour. There’s little value in knowing everything if you have no one to coach. We teach you not just what to know, but how to apply it in a way that builds trust, results, and a sustainable career.

It’s not knowing what to do, it’s getting people to do it.

Online Noise

The online space is becoming increasingly cluttered with information, and for anyone without a solid foundation in fitness, it can be difficult to know what to trust. Much of what you see is designed to grab attention, generate clicks, or sell a product. When that’s the case, the quality of the information often comes second — leaving you unsure of what actually works and what doesn’t.

At National Fitness and Exercise Ireland, our role is different. We give you the base knowledge and practical understanding needed to think critically and filter out the noise. We’re not here to chase clicks or sell quick fixes. Our focus is simple — to develop competent, confident personal trainers who can build a sustainable career in the industry.
